For Best Viewing Results

We've done everything we can think of to make this slide show version of Logs, Lies & Videotape run as smoothly as possible, with slides following the narration. Even so, if you don't have at least a 28.8 connection or better, the images in the show may move more slowly than they're supposed to. If network traffic is heavy, even a fast connection may not allow the images to stay in sync with the sound. We feel strongly that the message about the salvage rider, not the medium, is most important. So what can you do?

Number one: this page is now pre-loading all the images for the show. You'll get best performance if you can wait for all of them to load. Once they have, your browser should say "Document: Done" which means you're ready to go. (Some Microsoft Internet Explorer versions will show you all the images; Netscape will load them invisibly.) It could take a while though, depending on your connection speed and the network. If you want, you can start the show at any time by pressing the start button.

Number two: use the pause button on the RealAudio player during the slide show. If an image doesn't load, or only partially loads, and you want to see the whole thing, pause the sound until the image loads. Then start the sound again. This is especially useful for some Microsoft browsers, which will start opening multiple windows if your computer can't keep up with the show.

Number three: you can always run the show manually. The "next" button above will show you the next slide, without sound, from this or any other slide page. To listen to the narration while paging through the slides yourself, the link at the end of this sentence will start the sound only.

Last but not least, we've prepared some sound excerpts from our other video program, Troubled Waters. While you're waiting for more images to pre-load, you can listen to some of the reasons why repealing the salvage logging rider makes economic sense.
